JR promotions together with Proudly South African and our brand ambassadors are always up for some fun and spreading joy at events, this weekend JR provided a mascot to spread some cheer around the community at the annual Makhelwane Festival held in Soweto
The Makhelwane festival is a community-based celebration of the cultural tapestry of Soweto. This festival is now in its 9th year and prides itself on celebrating the tradition of Ubuntu.
Residents open their homes, turning them into unique pop-up experiences. Attendees were able to celebrate by enjoying street food, art exhibitions , local crafts and local fashion. The festival supports township entrepreneurs and promotes micro-economies within the community.
